1920s Flapper Dresses

Rebounding from the austere war years fashion-wise the 1920's were an exciting period. The decade is tagged the roaring 20's or the Jazz age.

During this decade a new woman was born. She smoked, drank, danced, and voted. She cut her hair, wore make-up, and went to petting parties. She was giddy and took risks. She was a flapper. Low-waisted dresses with fullness at the hemline allowed women to kick up their heels literally in new dances like the Charleston and the jitterbug.
